On this trip I helped with decorating the facility. Because a new month is approaching, I had to take down bulletin board posters and decorations. After doing this I helped with the 'activity hour' where elders made new decorations to put on the bulletin boards. Some of the women did not want to do the task at all, but the activity supervisor encouraged them and did not want/let any leave until they completed. The tasks were simple, gluing, taping, painting, etc, but I realized that even these small tasks can help the overall mindset and functioning of elders. It creates a situation where they have to concentrate and think things through. It seemed like a small exercise but I think that keeping the elders engaged is the main premise behind these activities. I had short and fun day..
